Walk to Work Week
Walk to Work Week
Walk to Work Week is an annual event run by the charity Living Streets. In 2011, the week runs from 9th to 13th May.

If your company or organisation would like to take part, go to the Walk to Work Week website, where you can find out more.
Then you'll need to:
- Encourage your staff and colleagues to sign up
- Remind people that they can plan their walking route to work using walkit.com's A to B route planner. You can order or download free walkit.com flyers and posters for your office or workplace here.
- If some people live too far away to walk to work, they can still take part! How about using our Circular Walks option to plan a stroll from the office at lunchtime? Simply click the green tab on the route finder, type in your office postcode, select how long you would like to walk for, and press Go.
During Walk to Work Week, all you need to do is make an extra effort to walk into work, and log how much walking you do. You’ll be able to see how far you’ve walked, how many calories you’ve burned, compare your results with other workplaces and even write Twitter-style ‘updates’ on your progress.
Good luck – we'd love to hear how you get on!
