Liverpool on walkit.com

Posted 24 April 2012 09:09 by martin

As of this week, we’re delighted to announce that we (finally!) cover walking routes in Liverpool here on walkit.com.

It's been a long time coming, and we've received a lot of encouragement from our users and potential users to get this great city added to the site.

Our thanks to Merseytravel who, under the guise of their well regarded TravelWise Merseyside campaign, have made it possible for us to provide Liverpool with the kind of high quality walking journey planning we provide in 40 other towns and cities up and down the nation.

Our coverage of Liverpool will allow locals and visitors alike to benefit form all the usual walkit.com tools, including: direct and less busy A-B journey planning; circular walks for lunch time breaks or weekend wanders; user-created themed walks and listing of walking events and tours within the city.

Within the city centre we'll also advise you if a route you plan with us includes steps. If you are a wheelchair user, a buggy or pram pusher or for whatever other reason find steps a barrier to accessibility, we provide a link to an alternative route that will avoid those steps.

Liverpool, in common with the other great British cities, is vibrant and distinctive place, and is simply fantastic to walk around. We'd strongly encourage you explore or reacquaint yourself with it on foot.
