London's bike hire scheme on its way

I had my doubts they'd get them all installed on time for the launch on July 30, but then again, I've rarely seen so many men in hi-viz jackets (Stamford Street, Waterloo):
I hope the scheme's a huge (£140 million) success…but I do have visions of a cycling newbie jumping on and gliding off merrily towards the mayhem of Waterloo roundabout…Ugh.
