We've now launched in Nottingham and Suffolk, including step-free routing
We're pleased to have added Nottingham, and the Suffolk towns of Ipswich, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds, to our growing list of walkit.com towns and cities.
Please have a play, and alert any friends, colleagues and family who you think will be interested.
And in a walkit.com first, we've introduced 'step-free' routing in our Suffolk towns. Our council partners there alerted us to all the main flights of steps that might affect route choices for those with particular mobility needs – whether wheelchair users, pram-pushers or wheelie-suitcase draggers (!).
Below are a couple of routes in Ipswich. Note the warning message below the blue search form, where you can switch between the 'with steps' and 'step-free' option.
The difference may look subtle, but we hope proves useful to those people for whom steps can be a barrier or a challenge.
Please let us know what you think. Where suitable data is available we'll try and introduce this feature in more walkit.com cities.
